Over the years, she has served on two PNCs, on Session as both an Elder and Clerk, and as a leader on many youth mission trips. By day, she works in product and solution development and is coming up on 14 years at Accolade. She spends her evenings walking her dog Sprocket, teaching restorative yoga and meditation, and enjoying time outside with family and friends. Katie considers the church a second home and is excited to introduce her first baby to the church family this fall!

David Thornburgh (Co-chair)

David is a 27-year member of PCCH. He is sometimes moved to tears by the church’s beautiful sacred music, not only because his wife Rebecca is a long-time member of the choir! Originally from Pittsburgh and a lifelong Presbyterian, he has served PCCH as an elder, co-chair of a capital campaign, and all-around wingman to Rebecca’s many volunteer efforts with the Church. He is a long-time civic leader in Philadelphia who has been heavily involved in many initiatives to grow the region’s economy and improve its government and politics. David and Rebecca have two daughters who were raised in the church. He is a musician (Rebecca and he were in a local band called Reckless Amateurs for 18 years) and a lifelong scuba diver.

In his free time he volunteers with the Boy Scouts, enjoys connecting with the natural environment, exploring through travel and camping, cooking for friends and family, and is always looking for an excuse to make a paella.

A wearer of many hats, Margaret sings in the Gallery Choir, is an Elder, serves on the Social Witness, Music & Arts, and Church Life committees, has produced play readings, and once baked the bread used for communion. Currently a legal assistant/paralegal, Margaret has been an archaeologist, a Latin teacher, a museum administrator, and the complaints desk for a plastic bag manufacturer, among other odd jobs. She loves live theater, movies, dining with friends, word puzzles, watersports, and the Phillies.

Bill Toffey

Bill Toffey is a 40-year member of PCCH, and has served over the decades as Elder, Deacon, Social Witness committee, Sunday School teacher, and adult ed presenter. The choir has been his constant role, early on joining his girlfriend Kathy in the choir loft, then marrying her, proceeding to raise three boys through the church, who also made joyful noise in worship. and then launching them into the world. Bill worked with the city’s wastewater utility, and after his official retirement continued as a “sustainability strategist,” writing and teaching on environmental topics and claiming the role as the PCCH climate change activist.
