Support PCCH

Adults

At the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, we offer a dynamic program for Adult Education and Fellowship.

Adult Education Classes

At 11:30 am, after Sunday morning worship, we proudly present a series of lectures and discussions, designed to educate the mind and inspire the heart. We invite specialists from a wide range of fields in order to expand our interest and knowledge of faith, mission, justice, theology, technology, culture, etc.

Communities for the Common Good

If you are interested in getting involved in church life extending beyond Sunday morning worship, then this is for you!  Here at PCCH, we have created small groups based around central themes. For more information about Communities, please visit the CCG web pages.

Theology on Tap

In the spirit of Martin Luther, we gather at a local haunt for some home-brewed beer and theological discussion!  We do this on the third Tuesday of every month, beginning in September and ending in June.  Open to all ages (21+ of course), we enjoy two hours of fellowship over drinks, as we explore the mysteries of scripture and of faith, like questions of Theodicy, Gender-Inclusivity, the Historical Jesus, Creationism vs. Science (and if they must always be exclusive of each other), and Symbolism in Scripture. Believe us, it's always an enlightening evening! For more information, contact Brian at brusso@chestnuthillpres.org.

20s-40's Events

Throughout the year, specific events are planned for this age group as we seek to expand our ministerial gifts toward this typically forgotten demographic.  Such events include bowling outings, corn mazes, and The Academy Award Movie Watch.

Senior Adult Events and Visitations

Senior adults in our congregation are specifically cared for by the Deacons, as well as the Director for Senior Adult Ministries. The focus of our ministry is to ensure that every Senior Adult is personally cared for, so that each receives visitations from both our deacons and director, and continues to feel the hospitality of Christian Love.  These members enjoy hour-long conversations throughout the year, either at their home or out for lunch.  If you would like a visitation, please contact our Director for Senior Adult Ministries, Brian Russo, at brusso@chestnuthillpres.org

Movie Nights for Adults

We show movies once each month (complete with popcorn!).  The showing is always on a Tuesday night, beginning at 6:45 pm. Starting in September 2011, the films are as follows:

  • September 27: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
  • October 25: Inside Job
  • November 29: The Prestige
  • None in December
  • January 24: What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
  • February 28: Big Fish
  • March 27: Midnight in Paris
