This new series starts after church on Sunday afternoon and includes lunch, conversation and a visit to an area arts-related venue. Yuletide at Winterthur

Learn about Christmas in early America during an abbreviated Adult Education hour, then join us to see the Winterthur Estate decorated for Yuletide. We will probably take the church van; we will purchase tickets when we arrive at Winterthur and have lunch together. Tickets are $18 for adults; $16 for students and seniors (62+); $5 for children (2-11). The Face of Jesus - A Three-Week Series

With the economy recessing, the church is regressing and reinstating potluck suppers on the last Sunday night of each month. Bring a dish to share and the whole family. Our children will be the artists as they create their own face of Jesus while a docent from the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

This new series begins with lunch together near the Philadelphia Museum of Art and then a trip to “Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus” at the PMA. Or, plan to meet us at the PMA at 2:15 p.m. Tickets are $25; the visit is free for PMA members. Adult Education – “Why The Supper at Emmaus?”

Tyler Professor Marcia Hall, Ph.D., will join us at PCCH for an hour-long exploration of Rembrandt’s art, particularly the supper at Emmaus, which appears frequently in his work. Dr. Hall teaches and writes about Italian Renaissance art, principally painting. Her current project is a book called The Sacred Image in the Renaissance, and has written and edited volumes on Raphael and Michelangelo.
