Volunteer Opportunities

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Saturday, December 14, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
PCCH has had a long history with Habitat for Humanity and we have been asked to provide volunteers to work on a house. If you are interested or just want to learn more, contact Brian Russo([email protected]). No special skills are needed but volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the church office.

ACHIEVABILITY AND PIHN CHRISTMAS GIFTS
Due Sunday, December 15
PCCH will be collecting gifts for 25 children participating in the ACHIEVability program. ACHIEVEability works to permanently break the generational cycle of poverty for low income, single parent and homeless families through higher education, affordable housing, supportive services, community and economic development and accountability. Please sign up in Widener Hall after church or contact Beth Vaccaro. There is a $50 limit per child and all gifts must be labeled, wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree in Widener Hall by Sunday, December 15. Please sign up for PIHN also in Widener Hall or email Liz Podraza.

FACE TO FACE PREP
Saturday, December 21 (Prep only), 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
The Social Witness Committee is happy to inform the congregation that our service at Face to Face is doing extremely well. All are welcome to join us. Face to Face is a well rooted, well managed community service organization located in Germantown, just 15 minutes from church. It provides various services to area residents. Face to Face also provides them with meals—and this is where PCCH is helping out. There is a sign-up sheet on the table below the Social Witness bulletin board outside the church office. Those who would like to involve themselves in this service opportunity should contact Beth Vaccaro.

OUR BROTHER’S PLACE
Next Sloppy Joe Pick-up Date is Monday, December 23
If you are making or buying Christmas cookies, please bring an extra dozen or two to send along with our December Sloppy Joes. The men really appreciate this extra treat at Christmas. Thank you!
We will continue to provide dinner on the last Sunday of each month, but will no longer send volunteers to serve. We continue to need monthly donations of Sloppy Joes (simple recipe: brown two pounds of ground beef or turkey, add a can of Manwich sauce, freeze flat in a Ziploc bag and bring to the freezer in the Church kitchen).
